Question by Rich_Steve: Suggestions for a college in Canada?
I was a freshman this year at the University of Akron in Ohio but many of the students left during the weekend (or atleast it seemed that way to me) and I just couldn’t seem to find my Niche there. I’m now attending Penn State Brandywine (my local affiliate) and am Itching just to get out of my hometown. I was loving being away from home at Akron but was depressed from my experience.
My solution is to try school in Canada. There are many reasons that I like Canada and have been planning on moving there when I got older, so I’m all for going to the country, and the distance wouldn’t bother me.
I just need to know what school might be a good fit. I tried to research online but couldn’t find anything like a collegeboard.com for canadian schools.
I had a 3.0 in HS, played two varsity sports, and was on Mock Trial and yearbook. I’m a huge hockey fan so an NHL team would be a plus, but I know hockey is all over canada. I would prefer a school with under 20,000. Price is not a factor.
Any suggestions?
Also, Akron had a big crime problem and I did not feel safe there at all. There were two shootings and a few armed robberies all on the same block as my dorm while I was there and we were warned not to walk the streets at night. So anywhere that has a decent crime rate?
