If you’re a writer starting out with online marketing, it can be very difficult and intimidating. But don’t get discouraged. Even though there are many different things for you to learn, taking baby steps at first and then progressing will lead you to achieve your goals. Once you start writing to make money with Internet marketing projects, that will get the ball rolling and it will become easier with time.
What you always want to remember when you want to make money by writing is that you will learn as you go. Learn as quickly as you can, just don’t over do it. You will be far better off if you’re gentle on yourself, and you’ll be able to count on your own judgment. Keep in mind, too, that you can and should use any available help if you get stuck. For example, the capitalization and spelling of common online terms doesn’t have to be memorized. Links to definitions, spelling and capitalization of important Web terminology are available on many sites. All you have to do is bookmark a good reference and use it when the need arises. If all else fails, consult the Chicago Manual of Style. That will help you resolve any grammatical issues that might plague you.
Yet the grammar, spelling and capitalization rules aren’t the only concerns when you’re writing for Internet marketing. You also want to be aware of the integrity factor. A prime demonstration of what can happen if you don’t are the Site Build It reviews. Apparently, Site Build It affiliates wrote bogus reviews and pushed them to the top of Google for big-money keywords so they could get people to buy an overpriced package of services. That didn’t sit well with some of the online community. Many people wrote reviews about the fake reviews and the battle was joined. I too wrote a review because I felt that’s what an online community member should do. Ultimately, it turned out that the Site Build It service wasn’t really a scam although it isn’t the best deal in the world. The lesson I took away from that was that the more you stick to good, high-integrity projects, the less likely it will be that you’ll get attacked. So, I would have to say that you should definitely evaluate the integrity of a project before you take it on as a writer.
